Our Team

As the leader in commercial fitouts and office design Sydney-wide, Sheldon comprises adedicated team of designers, project managers, administrators, production staff and co-ordinators with over 100 years combined experience. Leading the team are:

  1. Robert Bagatella, Managing Director Robert joined the Sheldon team in 1992 as a Site Supervisor. Showing an instinctive ability to lead and motivate others, Robert was progressively promoted into office refurbishment project management and then into account management before accepting the role as Managing Director in 2010. Currently one of our longest-term employees, Robert is not only a valued member of the Sheldon family, but well known and respected by clients past and present alike.
  2. Ben Bono, Manufacturing Manager Ben commenced with Sheldon in 1997 as part of the drafting team for commercial interior design. As his aptitude to manage detailed processes became apparent, he moved into manufacturing and was instrumental in his contribution to Sheldon winning the Australian Furniture of the Year award in 2003. Ben has travelled extensively to overseas furniture fairs and component shows to keep abreast of innovations in office refurbishment and steer Sheldons research and development of all manufactured products for commercial fitouts. He has been Manufacturing Manager since 2006.
  3. David Monardo, Sales Director David commenced with Sheldon in 1997 as a draftsman, backed by two Associate Diplomas in Architectural Drafting. After building a strong relationship with clients through his involvement in commercial interior design, project management and costing, and with an extensive knowledge of the commercial fitout industry, David was offered the role of Sales Director in 2010. Davids enthusiastic attitude to work, client liaison skills and patient instruction make him an excellent mentor to Sheldon staff, particularly those undergoing our trainee program and he is a vital member of the Sheldon team.

Sheldons team for office design in Sydney is highly qualified and draws upon a wealth of experience. Members of the team for office design in Sydney include:

  1. Roxane Kourakis, Senior Designer and Project Manager Roxane has over 15 years experience in office design at Sydneys Sheldon. Having received a Deans Honours Award from the University of Sydney, she is continuously upgrading her skills and keeping on top of industry trends.
  2. Michael Hala, Senior Designer With extensive experience as an architectural draftsperson, Michael completed a degree in Architecture at UTS with first class honours. Having spent time at a number of architecture firms on a variety of projects, including commercial interior design developments, Michael joined Sheldon in 2008.
  3. Pippa Adams, Designer With extensive commercial interior design training, Pippa has widespread experience with corporate and government clients for office design across Sydney and New South Wales. Combining pragmatism with creativity, she focuses on client requirements and awareness of governing standards applicable to each project allow her to realise quality design within designated budgets and timeframes.
  4. Tara Gunasekera, Junior Interior Designer Tara started with Sheldon recently, having completed a Degree of Interior Architecture with First Class Honours at UNSW. Her studies have been populated with numerous awards and nominations for her work, including a nomination for the Australasian Student Design Award (2011) and a Design Institute of Australia Graduate of the Year nomination (2010).
  5. Steven Mitsis, Interior Designer Having commenced in 2005, Steven is recognised for his wide experience, sense of humour and efficiency in space planning and commercial interior design.
  6. Tom Davies, Architectural Draftsperson Tom has extensive experience in commercial interior design development, spatial planning and creating construction documentation for commercial office fitouts. Tom is particularly well versed in modelling software and technologies.

Managing Office Refurbishments

Overseeing our commercial interior design processes and office refurbishments are the project management team, comprising:

  1. Rod Kruger, Project Manager Having trained with Sheldon as a shopfitter, Rods attention to detail and management skills, coupled with extensive studies in project management, have enabled him to progress to a senior project management position at Sheldon.
  2. David Kennedy, Project Manager With over 20 years experience in commercial fitouts and construction, David has extensive experience in domestic, large retail and commercial projects. As a qualified carpenter and joiner, he has a thorough understanding of all elements of office refurbishments.
  3. Ellie Law, Trainee Project Manager A recent addition to the Sheldon team, Ellie has a strong background in property and construction and excellent capabilities in co-ordination, planning and problem solving.
  4. Darren OHalloran, Partition Manager Darren started with Sheldon in 2001 after obtaining a degree in Construction Management as well as certification in Carpentry and Joinery and a Diploma in IT. His experience enables him to cost special design features quickly and precisely, allowing each client a unique commercial fitout.

On Budget and On Time Commercial Interior Design

Administration is key to completing office refurbishments and new commercial fitouts on time and on budget. Sheldons administrative team includes:

  1. Kerrin Docker, Office Manager - Kerrin started with Sheldon in 2006 as an office administrator. Kerrin has been crucial in gaining and maintaining Sheldon accreditation with the extensive Global Mark management systems we have in place, including OHS AS 4801, QMS ISO 9001 and EMS ISO 14001.
  2. Michelle Batley, Office Administrator Having commenced with Sheldon in 2009, Michelle has been a hardworking, professional and cheerful addition to the team.
  3. Nicole Domingo, Marketing/Administration starting in 2012, having completed her degree of Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing she is ready to enhance the Sheldon brand and expose it to wider markets through her creativity and enthusiasm.
  4. Peter ODonnell, Chief Financial Officer With experience running treasury operations for domestic and international banks, along with small business operating experience, Peter brings a wealth of knowledge to Sheldon. He has also spent time consulting as a chartered and commercial accountant and is currently the director of an international charitable organisation.

Co-ordinating Commercial Fitouts

Implementing our solutions for office design in Sydney, Sheldons site co-ordinators include:

  1. Tony Teura, Project OHS & Site Co-ordinator Tony commenced in manufacturing operations in 2001, moving into Project and OH&S Site Coordination in 2004. He has had extensive and consistent training in OH&S, enabling him to ensure that Sheldon sites are always clean, organised and safe.
  2. Peter Vickery, Site Co-ordinator Peters people skills, along with 13 years experience in construction, make him a particularly effective site manager, helping co-ordinate and motivate diverse staff teams and contractors.

Quality-controlled office refurbishments

Unique to Sheldon is our ability to undertake all aspects of office refurbishments and commercial fitouts in-house. Working with project managers, site co-ordinators and office design, Sydney production team members include:

  1. Tim Bowden, Production Co-ordinator Tim joined the production team in 2006. With a versatile skill set, his role is ever changing.
  2. Scott Cairns, Production Beginning with Sheldon as an apprentice shopfitter in 2007, he has since taken a leadership role and is a part of the OH&S committee.
  3. George Lettice, Manufacturing Operator Commenced with Sheldon in 2002. With a wide range of skills, he performs both on-site commercial fitouts and factory work.
  4. Terry Raela, Production A good-humoured and hardworking member of the team, Terry has been with the company since 2000. His extensive skill set is used both in the factory and on-site at our commercial interior design projects.
  5. Martin Hala, Product Research and Development Commencing as a skilled labourer and machine operator in 2008, Martin has since moved to the product development and research office. This hands-on background in office refurbishment allows the company to develop better solutions for office design in Sydney.
  6. Anthony Martin, CNC Machinist With Sheldon since 2009, Tony demonstrates Sheldons values of a conscientious approach to work, timeliness and professionalism.
  7. Jason Pickup, Production Apprentice Also with Sheldon since 2009, Jason has a versatile skill set and keen approach to learning.
  8. David Gore, CNC Machinist Having commenced in 2010, David has established his presence both with his skill set and sense of humour.
