Level 11 & 12, 80 Pacific Highway, North Sydney
Design + Construct
Employees are greeted by a sophisticated, light-filled reception space upon entering level 12 of 80 Pacific Highway, Arthur J Gallagher’s new office location.
The aim of AJG’s office fitout was to create a workplace that consolidated their three separate offices located around North Sydney. The new office was to be spread across two levels, with level 12 to be predominately client facing, and level 11 to be the functional working floor.
Making the move from offices to open-plan working, the original 1800 x 1800 corner desks evolved into custom 120 degree ‘snowflake’ shaped desks. Curved workstation screens alleviate the fixed feel, making it seem as though the desks have been organically placed around the office.
While AJG’s corporate blue makes up the most of the workspace colour palette, this is complemented by light timber tones, soft greys and whites. Pops of greenery have also been placed organically around the office. The office feels light and airy, and it’s hard not to feel relaxed with harbour views from practically every vantage point.
Acoustics were a high priority for the client, which had some flow on effects on the services and the slab-to-slab height walls. Sheldon worked closely with an acoustic consultant and the base building engineers to reach the best possible result for the space.
The end result empowers employees and provides them with the functional and productive spaces to thrive. Combining three previously separate offices into one has dramatically improved communication company-wide, with accessibility.
