International standards, incorporating local design trends

Project Description

77 King Street, Sydney

Looking to establish their first Australian office, Instructure wanted to create a collaborative workplace that spoke to their people and culture.

The design needed to maintain similar elements of the company’s international offices, while incorporating local design trends and characteristics.

As the office was also located in the same building as other high profile tenants, the design need to be appropriate for the stature of the building.

Sheldon designed a space with a central collective hub, custom boardroom tables and scrum rooms, and a games area.

The design also incorporated sit-to-stand workstations throughout, concrete floors, open ceilings and a large kitchen island that ensured the front and back of house areas were all connected.

The building posed a number of limitations, which meant the design need to work around essential services. A tight time frame also posed problems, however the Sheldon team sourced local designers and manufacturers to successfully meet the deadline.
