A Scandi-inspired workspace and experience centre in Macquarie Park for global company.
Sheldon designed and constructed a unique workplace featuring an experiential showroom space for Swedish-headquartered company Axis Communications. It is located in a new A-Grade Macquarie Park development where Sheldon completed speculative suites and a vision centre for the building owners. This knowledge of the building and client’s needs meant our team were well equipped to deliver Axis’ brief for a standout new workspace that meets their diverse needs and functions.
A functional blend of work zones and kitchen breakout.
An open plan workzone and kitchen are tucked around the corner from the reception/showroom, providing a separation from the client-facing front of house. The kitchen offers a playful nod to Swedish culture and design, seen in the colour palette of light wooden joinery combined with pastels and terracotta red in the kitchen tiling and furniture. The kitchen offers extra comfort with a couch and breakout seating to be enjoyed in the light-filled space.
The pastel tones continue through feature walls and acoustic panels dividing desks in the workzones. The workzones are located to optimise the natural light and the views onto the green outlooks of Macquarie Park. Several meeting rooms and focus rooms are provided alongside the perimeter of the workstations, providing privacy and quiet space as required. Individual booth seats also add a further quiet area, and a wellness/parents’ room ensures that all employee needs are catered for with comfortable spaces.
Front of house space custom built for the Axis Experience Centre.
Custom joinery was installed throughout the front of house space, specifically designed to showcase Axis’ products and systems in an Experience Centre, including custom reception seating.
A training centre is located in the front of house area, featuring operable walls and modular furniture so the space can be used for both training and events. An additional kitchen space also services this area.
Sustainable design features.
Sustainable design and construction considerations were prioritised by Sheldon’s team and our client. These include the use of low-VOC paint, reuse of base build carpet in the main office area, use of LED lighting installed by Sheldon’s electrical division, as well as the use of modular furniture to provide flexibility of the space and easy disassembly.
This project marks a successful collaboration by Sheldon’s internal divisions and client, exemplifying our extensive experience completing future-forward fitouts in Macquarie Park.
