Macquarie Park has seen major growth as a commercial, retail and education hub in the past few years, bolstered by the addition of two metro stations to service the growth. Sheldon has been at the forefront of commercial developments in Macquarie Park through our partnerships with many building owners, providing them with market-leading speculative suites, in both new and refurbished buildings. This includes multiple speculative suites in buildings for Keppel, Kador Group, Artifex and others.
JLL engaged Sheldon to design and construct a new speculative suite in 2 Lyonpark Rd in the heart of Macquarie Park. Our team simultaneously completed a fitout for Syngenta on the same floor of the building, meaning we could coordinate and streamline many of our trades and services.
Balanced design tailored to prospective Macquarie Park tenants.
Sheldon’s workplace design and strategy team have in-depth experience and understanding of what drives tenants to lease office space in different parts of Sydney. All Sheldon-designed speculative suites are driven by the needs of businesses in these areas, whether health and technology companies in Macquarie Park, or financial firms in the CBD.
This suite emphasises chocolately tones and dark joinery, complementing calm views onto greenery outside. The combination of open plan workstations and meeting rooms of various sizes provide a mix of work settings required by medium sized businesses that typically lease spaces in this area.
The kitchen break out area is tucked around a corner for privacy, with natural light pouring in this optimised position. A private balcony space off the kitchen provides a dedicated outdoor area for staff to enjoy the greenery. Custom made joinery from Sheldon’s local manufacturing facility is used to full effect in the kitchen joinery, built-in planter boxes and a custom timber batten screen dividing the kitchen from an open collab/lounge space.

This suite is indicative of Sheldon’s internal collaboration between design, project management and manufacturing, as well as an excellent partnership with the building owners Active Super and managers JLL. Sheldon’s experience in delivering refurbishments within older buildings, transforming suites into contemporary and future-proofed offices, shines through this space.
