Sheldon’s ongoing development of our ESG (Environment Social Governance) strategy has been guided by a number of local and global initiatives, including the UN Global Compact’s Sustainable Development Goals.

“The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognise that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection.” - United Nations.

We have identified the following goals that are most relevant to our business operations, sustainability and future goals.

3. Good Health and Wellbeing

Sheldon promotes health and wellbeing for our staff and clients by incorporating elements of healthy workplaces into our designs including wellness facilities, biophilia, multi-purpose rooms, mother’s rooms, and spaces that cater for neurodiversity.

7. Affordable and Clean Energy

Sheldon is committed to promoting energy efficiency in our fitout projects and is currently undertaking a solar transition process for our manufacturing operations.

8. Decent Work and Economic Growth

We’ve developed a workplace strategy division that promotes inclusivity at work and accessible office design, ensuring accommodations for neurodiverse and disabled employees are front of mind in all designs.

9. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

We aim to build resilient commercial infrastructure and innovate design and construction processes to improve the sustainability and inclusivity of our projects.

11. Sustainable Cities and Communities

Sheldon’s workplace design and construction process aligns with the UN SDG’s commitment to make cities inclusive, safe, resilient, and environmentally sustainable.

12. Responsible Consumption and Production

Sheldon has adopted a circular economy approach to the design and construction of its fitouts to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns across all operations.

13. Climate Action

Sheldon is currently spearheading a range of initiatives to increase climate action, including operations emissions reductions, client education, sustainable materiality and supporting land regeneration initiatives.
