Redefining Healthcare Design
Nestled in the heart of Sydney’s Macquarie Street, Performance Podiatry is one of Sheldon Interiors' most premium design and construction projects. Spanning 172sqm, the space was created to challenge industry norms, embracing a holistic approach where serenity, sophistication, and spatial flow come together, contrasting sharply with the sterile, angular designs typical of medical spaces.
Every element was thoughtfully selected to elevate the client journey, transforming the experience into something more akin to a wellness retreat as per the client’s request. With a focus on collaboration and hosting, the design merges functionality with luxury, inviting clients into a transformative space that offers not just medical treatment, but an immersive experience in self-care and wellness.
Elevating the Client Journey
As soon as a new client enters the clinic, they are met with sculptural forms and custom joinery that naturally guide them through the open space, complemented by a warm, neutral palette of light beiges and pinks chosen for their calming and restorative qualities. The design strategically embraces curves and undulating forms, creating a fluid journey without interruption, allowing visitors to intuitively navigate the space.
As visitors move deeper into the clinic, they are enveloped by natural textures, soft tones, and premium finishes in materials like natural stone, microcement, and modular joinery. These elements add sophistication to the space, while the layout ensures smooth transitions from reception to the kitchen to the private rooms. Treetop views of Macquarie Street further enhance the calming retreat-like atmosphere, creating an ideal setting for healing and well-being.

Sheldon’s strong client relationships were key to delivering Performance Podiatry’s new clinic within an ambitious nine-week timeframe.
Having known Cameron Grier for years, our sales team worked with him and Laura to bring their vision to life, refining the design alongside our in-house experts. Clear communication between Sheldon’s divisions, subcontractors, and consultants ensured a smooth process. Sustainability was also a key consideration. Low-VOC paints, locally sourced materials, and in-house manufactured furnishings reflect a commitment to responsible design. The use of microcement in place of traditional laminates reduced material waste, while 95% of construction debris was recycled.
In just 9 weeks, this elegant design was brought to life, resulting in a space that not only looks and feels exceptional but is also meticulously crafted with the client experience in mind.
