Efficient and flexible suites and lobby upgrade.

A longstanding client of LaSalle, Sheldon was tasked with designing and constructing two speculative suites as well as lobby upgrades in the popular commercial hub at 15 Talavera Rd, Macquarie Park. Sheldon was selected for this project due to our success in delivering similar projects for LaSalle in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Solution

Delivered under a warm shell condition, the two suites maximise space efficiency whilst prioritisng an open plan and varied working environment.

Suite one features a well-planned traffic flow from the workstations to a series of collaborative meeting rooms, with a generous kitchen, break, and breakout area in the center of the office for employees to socialise. Dark green highlights are used throughout the space to complement the light timber joinery from Sheldon’s manufacturing division with incorporated biophilia.

Suite two ensures a flexible working environment through the provision of several workpoints. Beyond the open plan workstation area are quiet rooms, a large boardroom, a campfire-lounge and whiteboard wall , a client waiting area, as well as two large break areas with multiple seating options for employees.

In addition to the speculative suites, Sheldon carried out upgrades to the building’s lobby. This included a café façade upgrade, new flooring, seating and booths, and feature wall paneling with a metallic painting finish for the lift area.

The main challenge of the ground floor lobby upgrades was keeping the live cafe in operation during the entire construction phase. Sheldon mitigated risk through consistent communication with our trades, team, and client. Night works and added supervision of labour ensured a positive outcome for section of the project.

Result

Despite the challenges of the lobby upgrades, the entire project was delivered on time, within budget, and to a high level of quality. Sheldon’s design, joinery manufacturing, and construction teams worked together seamlessly to deliver speculative suites that are not only functional and flexible, but uplift the aesthetic of the building as a whole.
