With their relocation to 78 Waterloo Road, Macquarie Park, Sysmex sought a significantly larger workplace and laboratory than was previously tenanted to accommodate for current and future growth. Working with Sheldon’s design, construction, electrical, mechanical, and furniture manufacturing teams, Sysmex developed their new facility to be highly functional and with a timeless aesthetic.
Workplace
Outgrowing their previous office, the primary goal for Sysmex’s new workplace was to bring more of a flexible work enviornment into their workflow, including a bigger kitchen breakout, staff training and nicer ammenities to ensure their staff are excited to come to work.Key workplace features included:
Large social/kitchen space with balcony access
Several meeting rooms including two large boardrooms (one with an operable wall to the laboratory)
Open plan workfloor with adjoining private offices for the executive team
Branded reception area with custom joinery
Laboratory
Alongside the workplace, Sheldon designed and delivered a new equipment testing laboratory for the Sysmex team. Lab benches and amenities were designed to be reconfigured, allowing the space to be more flexible to changing requirements.
