A luxurious workplace for global marketing agency’s Australian headquarters.

Mars United Australia (formerly known as XPO Brands) is a global commerce marketing company with renowned clients. Sheldon is proud to have designed and delivered their office relocation and brand new fitout in JQZ’s A-Grade development at 558 Pacific Highway, St Leonards. This fitout on Level 8 joins projects we’ve completed on Level 10 and Level 11 (full floor suites), speculative suites on Level 2, as well as fitouts for companies including Bouygues and Rural Affinity, signifying our extensive experience in this building. The Mars United workplace is set apart in its dark and moody interior, making a striking impression that is fitting to this brand.

Workspaces cleverly split across the floorplate.

This workplace was designed to take up two sides of the floorplate, on opposite sides of the main corridor/lift lobby space. The smaller side features quiet zones including focus/meeting rooms, and a library space, taking advantage of the base building’s window glazing on this side of the building. The library space can be curtained off for privacy, and features calming dark green tones and comfortable seating options for a moment’s rest and relaxation.

Rendered concrete walls in the reception area add a texturally unique element to this space, while dark joinery and planter boxes establish the moody yet serene atmosphere. The reception opens directly onto the large and flexible front of house space. Black tiling, Sheldon-manufactured joinery and a stunning black stone benchtop reveal the heart of this workplace.

Modular design elements achieve a flexible space.

Many of the tables in this workplace are modular and can be wheeled around to open up the space for events or presentations. A large screen also facilitates the use of the front of house space for a range of purposes. The modular tables in break out spaces at the front of house and back of the office can be connected to power boxes in the floor, providing extra workpoints when required. These flexible elements ensure that the space can grow and evolve with the team.

The ‘Harbour Lounge’ is a space at the rear of the office with views towards Sydney CBD, providing an inviting space for staff to enjoy the vistas and use the plush seating. A large boardroom opens up onto this space with sliding doors.

A few private office spaces align the main open plan workspace, suiting the needs of the Mars United team to have private spaces.  Luxe green and blue furnishings are complemented by dark walls with wainscoting paneling details, adding to the high-end look and feel.

This workplace showcases a client’s clear vision expertly translated by Sheldon’s design team into a distinctive, dark and expressive space. An excellent collaboration between Sheldon’s internal divisions and our client, Mars United’s workplace envisions a future of work that is flexible and engaging, within a striking space for staff to enjoy.
